I only need to refresh CPR and AED skills

Basic Life Support: CPR & AED — 2 hours

This focused course covers the essential skills needed to recognise cardiac arrest, perform effective CPR and use an AED.

Choose this course if you:

  • Need a straightforward adult BLS refresher

  • Work in an environment where adult patients are the main patient group

  • Want to maintain core CPR and AED skills

  • Do not need the additional clinical airway, choking or paediatric content of our longer courses

→ View Basic Life Support: CPR & AED

I work in a clinical environment and want more than CPR and AED

BLS in Clinical Practice — 3 hours

This course builds on core CPR and AED skills with practical training relevant to healthcare teams working in a clinical environment.

It includes choking management, airway management, oropharyngeal airways, bag-valve-mask ventilation and practical emergency scenarios.

Choose this course if you:

  • Are a dentist, GP, physiotherapist, nurse, healthcare professional or other clinical practitioner

  • Work with adult patients in a clinical environment

  • Want a broader BLS refresher than CPR and AED alone

  • Want to practise practical airway and choking-management skills

→ View BLS in Clinical Practice

I want BLS training that also covers anaphylaxis

BLS & Management of Anaphylaxis in Clinical Practice — 3.5 hours

This course combines clinical BLS with focused practical training in recognising and managing anaphylaxis.

It covers adult CPR and AED, choking and airway management alongside recognition of anaphylaxis, use of adrenaline and the management of a deteriorating patient.

Choose this course if you:

  • Want to refresh BLS and anaphylaxis in the same session

  • Work in a clinical environment where anaphylaxis is a relevant emergency

  • Want practical rather than purely theoretical anaphylaxis training

  • Primarily need adult BLS and anaphylaxis training

→ View BLS & Management of Anaphylaxis in Clinical Practice

I work with adults, children and infants

BLS for Adults, Children & Infants in Clinical Practice — 4 hours

This course builds on clinical BLS with practical training in resuscitation and choking management for adults, children and infants.

Choose this course if you:

  • Treat patients across different age groups

  • Work in a dental practice, GP practice or other clinical environment where children may be seen

  • Need to practise adult, child and infant CPR

  • Want one course covering BLS across all three age groups

→ View BLS for Adults, Children & Infants in Clinical Practice

I work with adults, children and infants and also need anaphylaxis training

BLS & Management of Anaphylaxis for Adults, Children & Infants in Clinical Practice — 4.5 hours

This is our most comprehensive BLS refresher course. It combines clinical BLS, adult, child and infant resuscitation, choking management and practical anaphylaxis training.

Choose this course if you:

  • Treat adults, children and infants

  • Want BLS and anaphylaxis training together

  • Work in a clinical environment where both resuscitation and anaphylaxis are relevant

  • Want a broader refresher without moving to a full-day medical-emergency course

I want more than a BLS refresher

Medical Emergencies in Clinical Practice — 7 hours

If you are looking for more comprehensive clinical emergency training rather than a focused BLS refresher, our one-day Medical Emergencies in Clinical Practice course goes further.

The course develops the skills needed to assess a deteriorating patient, recognise and respond to a range of medical emergencies, make appropriate clinical decisions, work effectively as a team and manage realistic, evolving scenarios.

It includes structured patient assessment, practical emergency skills, team leadership, escalation and reflective practice.

Choose this course if you:

  • Want a deeper understanding of medical emergencies

  • Need to develop clinical decision-making and team leadership

  • Want realistic, evolving emergency scenarios

  • Are reviewing or developing your practice's emergency response

  • Want comprehensive emergency training rather than a BLS-only refresher

Our courses can be delivered in-house for clinical teams, with selected courses also available as scheduled courses in Mayfair, London.

Which course is right for a healthcare professional?

There is no single BLS course that is appropriate for every healthcare professional.

The most suitable training depends on your role, scope of practice, clinical environment, patient population and existing training requirements.

For example, a physiotherapist working predominantly with adults may choose BLS in Clinical Practice, while a healthcare professional who regularly treats children may benefit from the Adults, Children & Infants course.

If your employer, professional body or clinical service specifies particular training requirements, you should also ensure that the course you choose meets those requirements.

If you are unsure, contact us and we can help you identify the most appropriate course for your team.

Prefer to attend as an individual?

Selected courses are available as scheduled training in Mayfair, London, allowing individuals and smaller teams to join an open course rather than arranging an in-house session.
